Amaze helps address digital skills gap through its innovative training programme and newly certified courses at Manchester College
This week we welcomed a new intake of graduates to our thriving Amaze Academy. Now in its second year, the Amaze Academy is a highly successful in-house training programme designed to provide new graduates with the range of practical design skills and essential hands-on experience needed to become a digital innovator.
Headed by Stuart Kirby, Academy Lead, the innovative programme takes a unique approach to tackling the current digital skills gap by offering a fast track, discipline-specific syllabus. The aim of the Academy is to equip candidates with real-life marketable skills and experience, which they can put into use immediately.
The syllabus includes a range of key modules, which cover core development, content management systems, eCommerce platforms and transactional systems. Candidates also benefit from the opportunity to contribute to the company’s wider innovation projects and support client teams, gaining valuable insight and experience into cutting edge eCommerce campaigns.
Testament to the success of the Amaze Academy is that after having spent a successful and transformative time developing extremely targeted skill sets, all six graduates from 2015 now hold permanent, technical positions within the company.
In addition to running our Academy, we have also announced a partnership with The Manchester College to help address the digital industry’s wider skills gap. We has officially certified two digitally focused courses, “Computer Science & Developing Digital Solutions” and “Creative Design & Developing Digital Experiences”. As part of these courses, we will be developing relevant briefs and scenarios for assignments associated with the courses to help prepare students for work in the commercial sector.
Mord Maman, a 2015 Amaze Academy Graduate, comments: “Amaze Academy provides a unique opportunity to learn the skills and technologies needed to become a highly skilled digital professional. During my training, I was given the time and resource to focus on what I enjoyed, in addition to finding out what I was good at. I also learnt about the industry as a whole and I’ve been able to put my new skills into use in my new role at Amaze.”
Stuart Kirby, Academy Lead at Amaze, comments: “The Amaze Academy has been exceptionally successful to date and we’re thrilled to have welcomed our new graduate intake this week. The digital landscape is extremely fast paced so it’s essential to have the right commercial skills in order to succeed in the industry. Amaze is equipping its graduates with just these skills through its highly transformative and innovative training programme.”
Natalie Gross, CEO at Amaze, comments: “Our partnership with The Manchester College demonstrates Amaze’s dedication to improving digital skills across the industry. We are excited about the new course because we are passionate about training the digital innovators of tomorrow and ensuring that the industry has a well trained, growing and dynamic talent pool in order to continue breaking new digital ground.”
