Toyota has introduced an entirely new brand and visual identity across its European operations. As part of this project, Amaze has been responsible for delivering all aspects of the online interpretation of that branding and visual design exercise.
Amaze also took the opportunity to deliver significant improvements to the interactivity and usability of the site structure.
The online platform is intended to coincide with delivery of significant new pieces of interactivity during the second quarter of 2009. This includes interactive, full screen flash functionality to showcase the Toyota model range, new forms and conversion tools and ongoing development of the product profile components of the platform. New content launches include product profile showcases for the Toyota iQ, Yaris, Verso and RAV4.
There was a core focus on realising the bold new Toyota brand online. The Amaze remit extended to the translation of complex product brand groupings into the online context, covering colours, textures, typographic hierarchies and visual identity standards for all templates and content containers.
Natalie Gross, Managing Partner at Amaze, said: “Amaze are very proud of the leading role we have played in bringing Toyota’s bold new brand strategy to life across the platform of European websites. We are also excited to be instrumental in supporting Toyota’s ongoing model launch schedule with significant new improvements in usability and interactivity.
“Our focus on user experience has allowed us to deliver on a strategy of continuous improvements to site functionality and design, which will have ongoing benefits for Toyota and their pan-European online audience”.
Karen Peeters, Manager of One-to-One Marketing at Toyota, said: “Amaze has helped to realise the online interpretation of Toyota's new Visual Identity in Europe. The challenge presented by the need to translate company and product-level brand expressions into an existing interactive space, consisting of several 1000nds of pages, was significant and we are very pleased with the results Amaze has delivered”.
The V9 website is currently live in Germany, Denmark, Netherlands, France, Belgium, Iceland, Portugal, Romania and Turkey with continual rollout of the website across all other Europe countries throughout April and beyond.
