Urban Regeneration Company, ReBlackpool, has appointed Amaze PR to handle the communications for the regeneration of the town following a six-way pitch against other leading PR consultancies.

ReBlackpool, is tasked with delivering the vision of Blackpool Resort Masterplan which aims to transform the area. The focus is on key projects with the creation of new residential areas, attractions, landmarks and natural public spaces, all of which provides investment opportunities for business as well as attracting new visitors to sustain the local economy.

Doug Garett, Chief Executive of ReBlackpool, said: “The team went above and beyond what we asked of them by showing insight and creativity along with a real understanding of the challenges the town faces in bringing about new life to a location which holds fond memories for many people across Britain.

“They combined ideas that will celebrate what Blackpool is famous for with ones that will attract inward investment. As a consequence we can see the value they can add in assisting us in transforming the resort into a world class 21st century visitor destination.”

Sandra McDowell, Partner at Amaze PR, added: “The whole agency is incredibly excited because the town has so many well loved assets that hold a special place in everyone’s heart.

“The brief includes numerous fascinating regeneration projects that will add new appeal to the town for locals, business and tourists alike.”

The news of the appointment is announced at the same time as a £20.6m boost from the North West Development Agency. The three-year funding package will help support tourism across five tourist boards including Blackpool.
