Amaze, has a new head office at Number One First Street, Manchester.
120 of Amaze's north west based employees have moved to the top floor of the prestigious six story building on the newly created First Street off Whitworth Street.
Amaze commissioned interior design company Sheila Bird Group to develop an environment to embrace the impact technology will have on the way businesses will work in the future. Within the new open plan scheme employees will have access to a usability and technology lab for research, a ‘sky lounge’ to house the latest gadgets and new technologies, a library and window-facing, themed informal spaces looking out over the city below.
The building, which is shared with Manchester City Council has impressive on-site services including a coffee bar café and a crèche, as well as free bicycle hire to the city centre.
Amaze moved to The Chapel, Deansgate earlier this year (March 2010) but has had to reconsider its choice of head office in Manchester, after its brief stay.
Speaking about the move Rod Hyde Chief Executive said: “The Chapel is, and remains a stunning building, but it has not been without some considerable teething problems. In weighing up our options, we have been presented with an incredible opportunity with the move to First Street. It is a prestigious building with notable environmental credentials.
“We are committed to creating office spaces that foster the best opportunities for collaborative working and innovation and this setting on the top floor offers a huge expanse of natural light and stunning views over the south side of the city, which make it an impressive place to work.”
Number One, First Street is the first office building in the North West to achieve BREEAM Post Construction certificate of "Excellent". This level of accreditation is only the 7th in the country.
Earlier in the year Amaze moved its Runcorn operation to the Liver Building In Liverpool and has plans to relocate its London office to larger premises to support its growth ambitions in the capital.
The 200 strong pan European business has seen a steady stream of new work from the BBC, Dyson, Chicago Town Pizza, Henri Lloyd, and University of Salford at Media City UK. The firm also continues to work closely with its existing clients on new briefs including supporting Coca-Cola’s sponsorship of the London 2012 Olympic Games, and number of major new initiatives for the Cooperative Group. For luxury automotive brand Lexus, Amaze handled the digital communications for the launch of the CT 200h at the Paris motor show, which they have now rolled out to 35 countries in 28 languages across Europe.
David Laws from Matthews and Goodman handled the deal with Ask Developments.
