Amaze Public Relations has been twice recognised for their work over the last year with award nominations in both the inaugural How-Do Public Services Communication Awards and the annual Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) PRide Awards.

With double the expected entries landing on the desks of How-Do’s judging panel, the inclusion of Amaze PR for the Best Internal Communications Campaign for their support of Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Executive’s (GMPTE) Staff Engagement Survey, is suitable recognition of the dedication and creativity required to fulfil the aims of the brief.

Connecting with 750 members of GMPTE staff at all levels with a creative six week campaign led to an impressive 85% response rate in the 2009 survey – 5% above target and an improvement of 22% since the last survey.

Barriers such as restricted e-mail access amongst frontline staff were overcome by setting up drop-in facilities and further direct stakeholder engagement gained management and union buy in. Constant visual reminders in communal staff areas and incentives to provide feedback made the survey front of mind for the large majority of eligible employees.

The Amaze team has also proved their worth in external, consumer communications as the CIPR confirmed the agency has been nominated in the Best Use of Photography category at the 2009 PRide Awards. Competing with 1,500 entries across all categories, their ‘Susan Boyle Pizza’ face in support of client, Sayers The Bakers, caught the eye of the judging panel as well as the world’s media.

The Bolton-based chain of bakers launched their own pizza range at the height of Su-Bo’s popularity, with the Scottish singer aiming for Britain’s Got Talent glory in May 2009. The PR team swung into action creating a look-a-like pizza which the national media, including The Sun and Daily Star, couldn’t ignore.
