Amaze was briefed to promote an eco-friendly gift of a potted tree, something that would out-last the traditional gift of flowers during the key selling periods of Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day. Identifying that discussion of gifts and gift ideas is more prevalent within social media than anywhere else online, Twitter was employed as the main communication tool, with influential mummy/eco bloggers providing positive product reviews and feeding into the Twitter profile. Through monitoring online conversations around gifting, the PR team was able to engage directly with the core audience. The campaign delivered a 15% uplift in visitors to the Tree2mydoor.com website and resulted in a 10% uplift of sales over the key gifting periods.
