Europe’s largest adult education college, City Lit, has launched its first mobile site today designed and built by Amaze.

The current City Lit website details 3,900 courses, which are regularly accessed by over 30,000 students and carries complex, user generated content including reviews and information request forms. The new mobile site was developed by adapting the core functionality of the main website to suit the mobile platform using Amaze’s creative design and technical build expertise. In doing so, the mobile site is fully integrated with the current CMS and technical framework to create a single point of content entry across both the new and existing sites and can be hosted on all major devices and operating systems, scaling down appropriately when used on older devices.

“As a growing number of current and prospective students continue to access our site through their mobile devices we recognised the business need to deliver a site which effectively engaged with this emerging mobile user base,” explains Liora Ives, Marketing Director at City Lit. “By offering a dedicated mobile site, we are able to provide a more relevant and enhanced user experience helping them to achieve their online goals. Furthermore, the new site provides a better user experience on older devices making City Lit and its services accessible to a larger audience.”

Speaking of the recent work, Natalie Gross, Managing Partner at Amaze, commented, “This was an interesting project for us that was completed in conjunction with Underwired Amaze and is one of a number of collaborative efforts between our two agencies, bringing together both agencies’ knowledge and expertise and applying it to emerging technologies and social trends to deliver full service solutions for our clients.”
