Amaze has appointed ex-TV Producer Claire Phillips to head up new content division.

Amaze has appointed ex-TV Producer Claire Phillips as Executive Producer – Content, where she will head up the agency’s new content division.

Phillips has an impressive career history in content production for television (TV), beginning when she joined well-known Producer, Phil Redmond, straight from university as an undergraduate at Mersey TV. After completing her basic training in TV and showing an aptitude for scripts, she was heavily involved in the launch of Hollyoaks and went on to become a writer for the teen drama. Following this, Phillips produced a number of award-winning TV series, including Brookside, Bad Girls, Footballers’ Wives, Waterloo Road and Hustle, and was series producer on The Bill.

Today’s consumer will come to expect digital content with the richness traditionally experienced from TV, meaning that the industry will have to evolve accordingly. Increased bandwidth, the development of HTML5 and the proliferation of internet TV and the second screen, mean that compelling and engaging brand stories will be brought to life with rich media and the skills of accomplished storytellers. The skills within Amaze’s new content division will meet the growing demand from clients for this type of offer.

Claire Phillips, Executive Producer – Content at Amaze, said of her new role, “In TV the starting point is great content. Having only recently been initiated into the world of digital, my aim is to bring a fresh pair of eyes to how we develop and present great content, further building on Amaze’s recognition as a first class digital publisher.

“One of my first challenges is to help our clients understand the role of content in their brand and digital strategy. I feel there’s still some way to go before many clients grasp its full potential.”

Natalie Gross, CEO of Amaze, commented, “With Claire’s impressive background in TV, she brings the skills of storytelling from the richest medium and will look at how we integrate that into what we do at Amaze. This is a new territory for digital agencies and we’re looking forward to breaking new ground in this exciting area.”
