Filthy PR Madames At Connectpoint Rewarded At Top Bash

The PR team for the Filthy Food Company has just come back from the CIPR's Excellence Awards 2008, held at the Park Lane Hilton, London, with a new certificate for the trophy cabinet.

While narrowly missing out on the top gong to Golin Harris for their 'Return of the Boy King' campaign to publicise the new Tutankhamen exhibition, Connectpoint PR was the only northern agency to be a finalist in the media relations category.

A hard-working, creative campaign that saw the team help boost sales of a newly launched range of chilled deserts by more than three times the forecast ensured the prestigious shortlisting.

The Excellence Awards recognise and reward best practice in public relations throughout the UK and acknowledge achievement at the highest professional level and are judged by a panel of senior PR practitioners and experts from the business, media, marketing and advertising communities.

CIPR Director General Colin Farrington said: "We received a record 853 entries across the 28 award categories this year - a good sign that the public relations industry continues to thrive. Finalists should celebrate the fact they have faced the stiffest competition to date to rise to the top of their industry."
